Reflection (19th April)

Materials Wall Workshop

I think this workshop helped stimulate my ideas by replying on my instincts. During the abstract drawing session, I was able to instinctively show my initial ideas through abstract drawings. I was difficult to start with because there was no clear directions to the drawings but I managed to used different pens and materials to show my thought and key aspects of my project (parasitic, undesignated, wanderings).

In the afternoon, we explored our materials in an abstract way and I think the thinking through making process helped me to constantly reflect and expand ideas instead of being constantly stuck on one idea and conventional materials.

This workshop intrigued me because all of us have different approaches to our materials, this really helped me to expand on my coming initial ideas. One of the classmates made their own bio-plastic and this material really interested me because of its unique texture, colour and consistency.
